remembering grandma

Two years ago today, my wonderful Grandma Alice took her last breath here on earth and entered the presence of her Savior. A lot has changed in the past two years. Jackson joined our family (oh how I wanted her to meet him!), Nate was deployed, we celebrated many birthdays and two Christmases without her, and now another baby will be added to our family. Another baby that won’t get snobble-gobbled by its great-grandma. :sniff:

But I am thankful for every single day I did know her and love her. I am so glad we have pictures and videos and happy memories of the many wonderful times we spent together. And I sure look forward to the day when I will join her in heaven and see my Savior’s face.

Grandma would be so proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren over the past two years. High school graduations, college graduations, marriages, births, new adventures…she would have been so excited for every one of them. I think today I’ll make a mess in the kitchen in her memory – she always encouraged my delight of cooking and baking. And I really need to compile her recipes for the rest of the family – I’ve had them sitting in her recipe box since she died and they were given to me.

I miss you and love you, Grandma. Give Grandpa a hug for me and tell Jesus I can’t wait to see Him.

my life is full and beautiful because the Lord of all creation has seen fit to take me as His own. I have a wondeful husband, five incredible kids, a sweet yellow lab, and we live in a lovely house in a small town. I throw the occasional temper tantrum, love good food, bake drool-worthy treats, and have a love affair with French-pressed coffee, mountains, and the North Shore of Lake Superior.
